These is what you got when you were a writer for "Star Trek: The Next Generation". The materials include a letter from Jeri Taylor with recommendations ("No cannibalistic stories!"); Submission Guidelines for the 1992-93 season, which includes what may be the earliest possible news of the creation of DS9; a "Writers' Technical Manual" for the Fifth Season (51pgs) and a "Writers's/Directors' Guide" dated 1992-93. Also included is a script for "The Best of Both Worlds" (final draft), which might be just lying around the office at the time. All in all, a great read and insight into the process of creating TNG.

Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987) Starfleet combadge

Picking up decades after Gene Roddenberry's original Star Trek, The Next Generation follows the adventures of Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and his crew aboard the all-new USS Enterprise NCC-1701D. This phenomenally successful follow-up series ran from 1987 to 1994 and created a new generation of Star Trek fans.


This Starfleet comm badge was used on screen in several episodes by various characters. Velcro is applied to the back for attachment to the costume. The back of this badge has velcro within inset on the mould, which establishes the piece as a version used in the later seasons. Early seasons' commbadges had the velcro applied directly on the surface. This style badge was used by Captain Picard and Doctor Beverly Crusher among others.

One of the holy grails of Star Trek collectors, I feel very fortunate that I managed to acquire one. There were always more costumes than combadges, for they were passed around from actor to actor, according to the episode.
