Capt. Kirk (William Shatner) must face his prejudices when his sworn enemies the Klingons lurch perilously close to economic deprivation and environmental ruin. Obeying Star Fleet orders, Kirk reluctantly begins peace negotiations with Klingon chancellor Gorkon (David Warner).
