The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)
"Dante Beast" reference arm, used for digital animation

This sculpted and painted resin arm was used as a reference for the left arm of the "Dante Beast" effects sequence in the 2003 film "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen", with Sean Connery. The "Dante Beast" sequence was created by the Tippet Studio for the production and Damon Bard is credited as Lead Dante Modeler, and Peter Konig as Dante Beast Conceptual Supervisor. Visual effects supervisor Brennan Doyle supervised the climactic battle sequence between Mr. Hyde and the CG Dante Beast. The piece was acquired privately.

Final draft

Revised draft, dated 3/6/02, by James Robinson. Includes annotations and highlighted passages, mostly FX work. Belonged to Oscar-winner George Gibbs, lead senior special effects technician. His name in on the cover, which although blackened out is readable. On the back is a very funny speech written down by Gibbs which, from the content, was probably to be delivered during an award ceremony to Dave Knowles, an FX colleague of his. [PSoL]
